According to a marketing research survey, over 50% of ATM users are concerned for their safety. Reports of ATM robberies continue to appear in the media, and until now, banks have not been able to assist the customer with a loss.

A new program has been developed to address these needs. ATMsafe™ is a combination of insurance benefits, consumer education and response management designed to aid banking customers who are robbed or assaulted at an ATM while conducting a transaction. ATMsafe™ is being introduced in the United States and is extensively available throughout Latin America.

Customers participating in the program are covered for loss of cash and medical costs while conducting an ATM transaction. Claims are handled quickly (cash can be replaced in less than 24 hours) and customers can be more confident when using an ATM.

The Oklahoma Bankers Association (OBA) has endorsed the ATMsafe™ program and will begin introducing ATMsafe™ through their approximately 300 member banks. "We are very pleased to work with the Oklahoma Bankers Association to introduce the ATMsafe™ program to community banks in the United States," says Patrick Merkley, President and CEO of ATMsafe™.
